AI Assisted Newsletter
Hello blog readers!
Today I will be sharing about my first experience with ChatGPT. Artificial Intelligence has been around for awhile, but this was my first time actually working with a program. I was tasked with creating a newsletter for my library sharing news and updates for what is happening in the library. I created a prompt to try and explain what I needed from ChatGPT which was surprisingly more difficult than I anticipated. I struggled with knowing exactly what the program would need to create what I had in mind. Once I created my prompt and hit send, I was absolutely blown away to watch as words appeared in front of me writing down exactly what I had picture, at times even better than I would have myself. It was amazing to me how ChatGPT took my paragraph and created an entire newsletter in less than 30 seconds. Below is the prompt that I gave ChatGPT, and the newsletter it created for me.
Overall, I think ChatGPT did an excellent job writing a newsletter. It included all the information I wanted it to, and added adjectives and interesting sentences. It broke up the paragram into eyecatching bullet points and even added emojis. Nothing was missing from the prompt that I entered, and all of it was accurate to the information that I needed. I honestly don't think that I could have done a better job myself. I really liked the result and I think that the future of AI is only just beginning. In the future, I could take information from ChatGPT and plug it into another program to add more visual interest, say like Canva. Being this was my first experience with a program like this, I was extremely impressed with the results and am excited to use it again.
Prompt I gave ChatGPT:

I also used the Chat GPT to generate a September update newsletter. I also thought it was great how it generated everything I was thinking about. I however, had to revise it and told AI to add a couple of activities to the newsletter.
